Dedicates development projects worth Rs 1,100 cr with Gadkari

Slamming the previous regimes in Uttar Pradesh for their “casteist, narrow-minded and dynastic mentality” and “politics of appeasement”, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the state was reduced to poverty and remained underdeveloped because of these parties being in power.

“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the ‘new’ UP has progressed on the path of development. Today, not only faith is being respected here, but also, the poor and underprivileged are being uplifted. Now, the government is not backing rioters and criminals but is running bulldozers on them,” Yogi said while dedicating development projects worth Rs 1,100 crore in the presence of Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari in Jaunpur on Monday.

Addressing the public on the occasion, the chief minister criticised the previous regimes, including that of the Samajwadi Party, for instigating hatred, creating chaos and rift in the younger generation by making them fight amongst themselves on the basis of caste and religion.

Indirectly discussing the exploits of the SP tenure, Yogi said that whenever job vacancies came out, the entire family fanned out to make extortions in job recruitments while the Bharatiya Janata Party government gave government jobs to nearly five lakh people with utmost transparency in five years.

He went on to add that under the previous regimes, the benefits of government schemes only reached “selective people”, and no farmer, no needy or poor was benefitted.

“Unlike them (opposition), we do not believe in benefitting ourselves, ‘Humne samadhan ki rajneeti kari hai’,” he said.

Mentioning the “dirty politics” played by opposition parties on the arrival of the indigenous Covid vaccine, Yogi asserted, “Under the prime minister’s guidance, the entire country was provided with free testing facilities, free vaccines and free treatment during the COVID-19 pandemic. Besides, the double engine government is also providing double-benefits to the poor by providing free ration.”

In his address, Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari praised the Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh, saying that it had ended mafia-rule and worked to develop the state and benefit people without discrimination and had established ‘Ram Rajya’ through good governance.

“Our BJP does not promote ‘dynastic mindset’ and neither works with a narrow-minded approach. It is an organisation of patriots who work selflessly towards the nation,” he said.

Citing his own example, Gadkari mentioned how he used to do wall-paintings for the BJP in the beginning and now he sits in the chair on which stalwarts like Atal Bihari Vajpayee and LK Advani used to sit.

“It is the BJP where ordinary party workers are given the opportunity to rise, shine and lead,” he remarked.

The Union minister went on to say that industrialists invest in a place where the law and order system is strict. Investment creates employment and when there is employment, poverty ends. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has established Uttar Pradesh as a riot-free state.

Referring to US President John F Kennedy who once said that “American roads are not good because America is rich, but America is rich because American roads are good”, Gadkari said, “Let the double-engine government rule. Development work worth Rs 3.5 lakh crore was done in the span of just four years, if we return to power, development work worth Rs 5 lakh crore will be done to transform Uttar Pradesh. The roads here will give competition to America.”

Referring to the need for green energy, the Union minister said that now ‘annadata’ (farmers) of the country would become ‘urjadata’ (source of energy).

“If there is no petrol in the coming time, then bikes and scooters will run on ethanol prepared by the farmers of Uttar Pradesh. The farmers of the state will also prepare green hydrogen and plastic will also be prepared from ethanol,” he said.
