Jaitley said that UP NRI Day will provide a unique platform for NRIs from Uttar Pradesh to deliberate on various issues they are facing. “We want to give these NRIs a platform where they can air their grievances as well as chart out their plans for development of native villages,” he said.

Jaitley said the NRIs of UP would be allotted special identity cards and their details would be available in the NRI website. The URl of the dedicated portal iswww.upnri.com. “This has come to our knowledge that many NRIs want to set up schools or construct roads or infrastructure in their villages in the memory of their father or other family members. They do not know how to go ahead. Now, we give them an opportunity to fulfill their dream,” he said. The NRI Diwas will be chaired by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav who along with a team of senior state government officials will showcase the growth journey of UP through Diaspora initiatives. He disclosed that the delegates from abroad would participate in this two days conclave where there would be several sessions on the development and other issues.
