Uttar Pradesh has provided the maximum number of houses to the poor in the country. Along with housing under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the state government has also provided houses to the poor in urban and rural areas under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana.
The Yogi Adityanath government has fulfilled the dream of those living below the poverty line. Those were the ones who were shelterless yet unheard in the previous governments.
Following the mantra of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas', the Yogi government, along with the Musahar and Vantangia communities, for the first time in UP, provided houses to the families affected by leprosy.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, as many as 17.02 lakh houses have been constructed in urban areas and 26.15 lakh houses have been allotted to the beneficiaries in rural areas.
Similarly, the government has given the gift of housing to 1,08,495 people living in rural areas under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana. Of these, 42,094 houses have been given to Musahar community, 4,822 to Vantangia community and 3,686 houses to leprosy affected families.
This is the first time that a government has thought of the Musahar and Vantangia sections as well as the families affected by leprosy.
The intention of the state government has been to help the needy people of every section.
