Acting upon the directives of the Union government, the UP government instructed all departments to undertake a fortnight-long Swachch Bharat Mission from May 16 to 31.
The directives have been issued to all Divisional Commissioners, DMs and Municipal Commissioners of Nagar Nigam to popularize this campaign on a large scale so that people could imbibe the habit of cleanliness.
“The officials should make a start from the office by discarding all irrelevant articles. The roof tops should be cleaned and the toilets should be spic and span. Where need be, renovation of toilets should be carried out,” a statement issued by the state government said.
The employees should also pledge to keep the surroundings of the office clean.
