The Yogi Adityanath government is likely to table a second supplementary budget for 2019-20 fiscal during the brief winter session of UP Legislature starting from December 17.
This will be the second supplementary demand during the current fiscal.
The government is likely to table a Finance Bill on December 18.
Official sources said that the size of the second supplementary budget was likely to be about Rs 4,000 crore. Most demands would be for seeking further budgetary grants for ongoing schemes. The only major head of expenditure is likely to be rural drinking water scheme under the newly-created Jal Shakti department.
The Finance department has sought proposal for the supplementary demand from the department and it is to be submitted by December 9.
No major proposal would be included in supplementary budget as the government has decided that the new proposals would be included in the next budget for 2020-21.
The UP government had obtained approval of the legislature for the first supplementary grants during the Assembly session in July. The government had then tabled a supplementary budget of Rs 13,594.87 crore to meet additional expenditure for 2019-20 fiscal. The first supplementary budget was presented by then Finance minister Rajesh Agarwal.
