UP govt hiding failures, not improving: Priyanka

Published on:

After pilloring the Uttar Pradesh government over deterioration in law and order in the past few weeks, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi cornered the Bharatiya Janata Party regime over poor health care in the state.

She charged that the chief minister was more interested in hiding his failures rather than improving the condition of hospitals.

On Thursday, uploading a video of a waterlogged hospital on her twitter handle, Priyanka posted, “Health facilities should have been improved at a time when coronavirus is spreading fast. But this is the condition of Mahoba’s women’s hospital. You must have seen the chaotic conditions in hospitals of Bareilly, Gorakhpur and Lucknow. The CM, who is boasting of good health facilities, is interested in hiding these conditions, not improving them.”

Till Thursday evening, there was no response from the BJP on Priyanka’s tweet.

Due to heavy rainfall on Tuesday, district hospital of Mahoba was converted into an island as it was flooded.

Posted at the district hospital in Mahoba, Dr Rohit Sonkar said in a statement that due to waterlogging in the hospital, numerous problems were faced. However, the water was immediately pumped out after the rain stopped and the hospital campus was sanitised.
