The three-day-long state-wide Uttar Pradesh Day celebrations from January 24 to 26 will showcase the ‘Self-reliant Uttar Pradesh’.

The celebrations will be dedicated to those who have made the people of UP proud by their fighting spirit, unique thought-process and resilience in character.

This day is celebrated every year on January 24 to mark the foundation day of UP.

“This celebration will belong to every citizen of the state and should have mass participation. The way Uttar Pradesh has taken shape over the last over three-and-half years by accepting every challenge as a new opportunity and emerged as a self-reliant state is something to be shown to all during this celebration,” Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said while reviewing the preparations for the event here on Sunday evening.

He said that the state government would bestow Uttar Pradesh Gaurav Samman on all those who had added to the pride of the state by their sheer grit and dedication towards self-reliance, be it women of self-help groups (SHGs) or the progressive farmers or the artisans who scripted new sagas of success by their skills.

The CM directed officials to ensure that the local talents were encouraged in various variety programmes ranging from local ethos, folk music and culture, that would take place across the state.

The Shilp Mela and other exhibitions will showcase the public welfare schemes of the government, the ODOP (One District, One Product) related events, the tool kits distribution under Vishwakarma Samman besides displaying the journey of Sri Ram and inspiring stories from Mahabharat.

Band display by acid victim women, staging of Shabri-Ram context of Ramayan and the acts related to historical and mythological characters like Sita, Draupadi, Jhalkari Bai, Uda Devi etc. by Kinnar artistes will be the highlights of the celebrations which will also have a display of Ram Mandir model, the dramatisation of freedom struggle focused around Meerut and exhibition on Vishwa Yatra of Lord Ram.
