UP cops defends colleague beyond law

Published on:

How inhuman the cops of the Uttar Pradesh police could turn just to save their colleague came to fore when luxurious official car of district police chief of lakhimpur Kheri, collided with a two-wheeler, killing a 28-year-old youth and his 6-year-old son on the spot in Sitapur.

The efforts to save the guilty could be just gauged by the fact that SP Sitapur in his report sent to director general of police office on Tuesday, had accused the victim for negligent and rash driving, and defended the police official claiming that the spot visit showed that the driver of the SP Kheri’s official vehicle in which the officer was also sitting, had applied breaks mush in advance as the scratch mark of tyre were seen for 72-feet long. It is not only surprising but anyone guess the speed of the SP Kheri’s car that the driver could not even stopped the vehicle when he had already applied break at least 72-feets before the vehicle finally stopped, as per the claims of SP Sitapur, who almost gave clean chit to police driver.

Reports said that SP Sitapur in his report send to DGP office, claimed that SP Kheri, was going to lucknow on his official Ciaz car  (UP31G-0392) when a Hero Honda CD Delux motorcycle (UP34P-1280), occupied by two persons, suddenly came on the wrong side at Badeliya hamlet of Hargaon on lucknow-Sitapur highway on Tuesday afternoon. To give clean chit to the driver of SP Kheri’s vehicle, SP Sitapur mentioned that at least 32 steps before the accident, the Ciaz driver applied brake and cut the vehicle towards footpath to save the motorcycle occupants but the two-wheeler driver was in so high speed that after coming on the wrong side, the motorcycle hit the car in which both the occupants were critically injured.

The officer further said that soon after getting information, local station officer as well circle officer of Sadar reached the spot and shifted both the victims to district hospital where both were pronounced dead upon arrival. It may be mentioned here the report pointed that SP Kheri, not immediately shifted the victims and waited for junior cops to reach the spot and shift the injured. Had he immediately shifted the victims, their lives could be saved. The victims were identified as Anil aka Guddu (28), and his son Sachin (6), both residing in the same area.

Surprisingly, it not that the Sitapur police just tried to give clean chit to SP Kheri’s driver, but in a grass insensitive approach, SP Sitapur in his report also mentioned that the motorcycle driver Anil, seems to be in inebriated state. He said to have get the matter registered and bodies were sent for post-mortem examination.
