UP congress to face trouble

Uttar Pradesh Congress, which is facing worst political crisis in the State after the recent lok Sabha drubbing, could face fresh trouble as some veteran Congressmen are planning to float a new parallel political outfit with the help of a former senior Party leader.

The new political outfit, proposed to be named as ‘Rajiv Congress’, may be joined in by some senior veteran Congressmen.   A former Rajya Sabha member is likely to take initiative in the formation of the new political outfit, a source close to the leaders of this new group disclosed hereon Tuesday. Sources in the Congress confirmed that very soon a meeting of these leaders would be held here for floating a new parallel political outfit.

“Several senior leaders of the party are peeved over the present state of function in the party in UP and it seems that except for Amethi and Rae Bareli, the leadership is not at all concerned with the party affairs in rest of the State. This has lead to the grievances among the rank and file, who could even take a plunge to float this new political outfit,” the sources claimed. Interestingly, one of the senior leader, SP Goswami, who remained on various posts, including state president of UP Youth Congress and National Students Union of India (NSUI), had called a press conference on Wednesday to disclose his future course of action. Goswami, who too was unhappy with the approach of the senior leaders, who refused to take his services in any capacity to re-build the Organisation, had submitted his resignation to the High Command recently.

He claimed to have resigned from the Party as he feel that no one is keen to take advantage of his experience and seniority in the Party to re-build the Party which reached  in very poor state particularly in Uttar Pradesh.  Earlier, during the recent visit of Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi to Rae Bareli, party supporters had raised slogans to call his sister Priyanka Vadra to take the rein of the party in her hand. Demand for Ms Vadra is being raised for the part couple of years in Allahabad and other parts of the State also.
