Uttar Pradesh Congress targeted Yogi Adityanath on deteriorating law and order situation claiming that people are not safe even in the State capital.
“Dacoities, killings, loot and even attack on the members of fourth estate right under the nose of the chief minister Yogi Adityanath, all exposed the tall claims of the Bharatiya Janta Party government of improvement on law and order front”, asserted Congress MlC Deepak Singh. Attacking the Yogi Adityanath government here on Monday afternoon, Singh said that safety of the people in the state under the present government could be gauged from the fact that the life of resident of those living in the state capital is not even safe now. ``The criminals and goons are running the parallel government and Yogi Adityanath had engaged in the entire police and other machinery to get criminals cases registered against him and other BJP leaders withdraw as soon as possible”, Singh pointed.
Singh also targeted Yogi government of facilitating the encounters. ``These `stage managed’ killing of some petty criminals will not improve the law and order but would boost the morale of the organised gangs to freely operate in the State”, Singh said highlighting that now even the National Human Rights Commission had taken the cognizance of `encounter’ drama of the BJP government.
Meanwhile former Congress legislative Party (ClP)leader Pradeep Mathur too criticised the deteriorating law and order in the state and has demanded that murder cases be lodged against the police personnel “responsible” for the killing of an 8-year-old boy recently in Mathura. He accused the officers of hushing up the matter with just suspension of the guilty cops.
Madhav was killed during the exchange of fire in Mohanpur Aduki village on last Wednesday. Villagers alleged that a bullet fired by the police team hit the boy, but the police suspect he was caught in the cross firing by the criminals. An FIR was registered against four “erring” policemen who were involved in the encounter and they were suspended.
Mathur, claimed that he led a fact-finding team to the village on Monday and had demanded that a case of murder be registered against the
“erring” police personnel. “Register murder charge under section 302 of the IPC against the erring police personnel, the ones responsible for
the death of Madhav,” Mathur said. He said his party would be forced to raise the issue in the legislative Assembly, “since police as well as the government is trying to shield the guilty and hush-up the
case”.
Mathur said he was convinced the police didn’t have a reason to fire. “After verifying facts from family members and villagers, the delegation has come to conclusion that there was no provocation for the police, since neither any hardened criminal nor any history-sheeter is present in the village,” he said. “The registration of a case against unknown person is a surprise since, even senior police officers in their investigation, prima facie, have accepted the killing of the
child, by police bullet,” he said. Transfer of guilty officials to lines or their suspension are proofs that every effort are made to safeguard the erring police personnel, he said. Mathur has also demanded a government job to Amarnath, Madhav’s father.
