UP Congress demands removal of Siddharth Nath Singh

Uttar Pradesh Congress demanded immediate removal of Minister for Medical and Health, Siddharth Nath Singh, from the ministry alleging that on one hand, the patients in the state run hospitals were dying due to absence of proper facilities, but still Singh was making one after another undue demand from the health directorate. The demand of removal was made by UPCC after another letter of Singh’s personal staff was leaked in the social media on Thursday.

``After several deaths in BRD Medical College in Gorakhpur due to shortage of oxygen, and in some other government hospitals of the state,  now 5 elderly patients died in the ICU of a state-run hospital in Kanpur just due to failure of AC plant on Thursday pointing that all is not well in the government hospitals”, quoted spokesman of the UPCC, Siddharth Priya Srivastava while attacking Siddharth Nath Singh.

In a statement given here on Friday evening, Siddharth said that on one hand, the government failed to provide proper facilities to hospitals and on the other hand, the minister through his personal staff was making undue demands from the Health Department. ``Personal staff of the Singh first dispatched a letter to the Health Directorate asking to fix colour lEDs in Singh’s house at Gautampalli but the matter was hush up by the minister claiming that the letter was wrongly sent by his staff without his knowledge”, pointed Siddharth claiming that now another letter of same staff was leaked in which he asked the health directorate to arrange a laptop to the minister for official use. ``Singh should explain that under which provision, the directorate would provide him a laptop or the government should now take action against the minister for putting undue demand through his personal staff”, Siddharth said.
