The state BJP is elated over the response to the two-day ‘UP Investors’ Summit’after Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath claimed that  Rs 4.28 lakh crore investments have been promised through 1045 agreements (MOUs).

“The Investors Summit is the brain child of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and they have shown what the state requires and how it can be done,” said state BJP general secretary Vijay Bahadur Pathak on Friday.

“Within a year of assuming power, the BJP is fulfilling the promises made during the 2017 Assembly polls with a thrust on agri and food sector that will pave the way for doubling income of the farmers by 2022,” Pathak said.

He claimed that the Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party too have claimed that such Summit was not new in UP but can they answer whether their Summit matched the one that was organized in lucknow by this government.

“For the first time, the ruling party has a political will to develop the state and the bureaucracy, who were earlier blamed of creating hurdles in investments, were upfront to achieve the goal,” he said.

Replying to the opposition charges that only MoUs were signed at the Summit, Pathak said that it was for the first time that captains of Inc India made public commitments for their initiative. “Not once in the past, these industrial bosses made such public announcements for the state,” he said.

lauding the efficiency of the bureaucracy for creating a history of sorts, the BJP leader said that the coordination between political leadership and bureaucracy for this Summit was witnessed for the first time in Uttar Pradesh.

Pathak also said that the announcement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that Chief Minister Yogi will himself monitor the implementation of MoUs also indicated how serious UP was for its development.

The two-day Investors’ Summit was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday and President Ramnath Kovind attended the valedictory session on Thursday evening.

A total of 16 senior Union ministers attended the Summit along with delegates of seven partner countries. Former PM of Mauritius Aneroodh Jugnauth too led a big delegation in the Summit.
