The class X and class XII examinations of UP Board will commence on February 16. Over 58 lakh candidates have registered for the exams this year. Of these, 31.20 lakh students have registered for class X while 27.5 lakh for class XII.
The exams will be held at 8,752 centres across 75 districts in Uttar Pradesh. According to the timetable released by Secretary of UP Secondary Education Board Divyakant Shukla, the class X exams will be held in 13 working days and will end on March 3. The class XII exams will be held in 14 working days and will end on March 4.
For the first time, the UP Board examinees will get stitched answer sheets. The move is aimed at preventing the copy mafia from changing the answer sheets of meritorious students. There were complaints in this regard in the previous years.
Also, answer sheets given to the students will have barcodes and monograms on them. These initiatives are being taken with an aim to eliminate the scope of manipulation of answer sheets. The board will also check random answer sheets using the barcodes. Over 3 crore answer sheets will be required for the UP Board examinations.
