Body of an unidentified 30-year-old woman was recovered from a field in Faizabad district on Sunday. According to reports, some residents of Gaura Kurmiyan village under Raunahi police station area spotted the body when they happened to pass near the field on Sunday morning. They informed the incident to the village Pradhan and later the news reached to the police. A police team reached the place for investigation then.
The cops said the woman would have been strangulated to death by the unidentified miscreants. “The circumstantial evidences pointed towards this as a dupatta was found wrapped around her neck. We have sent the body for post-mortem and further investigations are on,’ the cops said. They said the exact cause of death would be known after the autopsy report was obtained. The police said ascertaining the identity of the woman was of prime concern. “In the lack of this, the probe of the case would face a hinder,’ the cops said.
Meanwhile, unidentified miscreants shot dead a man and dumped his body near a canal in Shamli district on Sunday morning. Earlier, on Sunday morning some resident spotted the body lying in unclaimed state at the embankment of a canal under Khandra police station area. The police said the body bore bullet injuries when was examined. The cops said the body was sent for post-mortem and efforts to ascertain the identity of the man are on.
