An under trial lodged in Ballia district jail escaped from district hospital where he was admitted for treatment on doctors’ advice. The miscreant, Thothi Nat of Ballai, was jailed in a theft case and was lodged there since September 9, 2013. He escaped in wee hours on Sunday dodging two prison guards who fell asleep as the night fell.
Sources said Thoti, a notorious thief, had an easy slip from jail. An FIR was lodged against prison guards Madan Singh and Bihari Ram in this connection.
