Former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh and ex-Union minister Uma Bharti visited the Sanjay Gandhi Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences on Wednesday and enquired about the health of former chief minister of UP, Kalyan Singh, whose condition continued to be critical.
Kalyan Singh was admitted to the CCM of the SGPGIMS on July 4 in a critical condition. His condition gradually improved but on July 17 he was put on non-invasive ventilation after developing breathing problems. He was put on a life saving support system as the condition worsened.
Talking to media persons after meeting Singh, Uma Bharti said that she had come to see Kalyan Singh, whom she called Babuji. She stressed that Babuji was still a powerful leader and it seemed to her that he was going to be with them for a long time.
“I have spoken to doctors. They are giving the best possible treatment to Kalyan Singh,” Bharati said
Attacking the Congress, the firebrand leader said that the grand old party was not allowing Parliament to function and challenged its leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to raise the issues before the public, adding the people would teach them a lesson.
She also attacked Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and said that he was out of power because of his inefficiency.
Speaking on the new population policy proposed in Uttar Pradesh, Bharti said that she was a big supporter of population control and it must be implemented.
SGPGIMS Director Prof RK Dhiman said that the condition of Kalyan Singh remained critical due to which he was still on life support. He said that the former chief minister’s parameters were being closely monitored and expert doctors from CCM, Cardiology Nephrology, Neurology and Endocrinology were keeping a close tab on all aspects related to his health.
