In a suspected case of gang-rape and murder, the body of a trainee beautician was recovered from the bushes in a village of Azamgarh on Wednesday afternoon.
The girl was missing for the last three days.
The police, along with a forensic team, reached the spot and started the investigation. The body was sent for post-mortem.
According to reports, 22-year-old Kajal (name changed) of Bhadeva Majhauli village under Atraulia police station of Azamgarh, was doing a beautician’s course. She used to visit a beauty parlor in Madiyapar market every day. Last Saturday she left the house saying that she was going to the beauty parlor but she did not return home. The family became worried when Manisha did not reach home till late night and launched a search for her.
Even after searching for two days, when the family got no clue to the missing girl, her father filed a complaint about the disappearance at Atraulia police station on Monday. In the complaint he also mentioned that a youth of the same village was trying to entice his daughter for the last several days. He also informed the police that he contacted the youth, a resident of the same area, to enquire about Kajal but the latter did not give any satisfactory reply so they decided to lodge a report.
Reports said that on Wednesday, Kajal's brother and other family members were searching for her when in the afternoon they saw the body of the girl lying in the bushes near the village. They immediately informed the police after which Circle Officer Siddharth Tomar, IPS trainee Gaurav Kumar, Station House Officer Nadeem Ahmed Faridi, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Rahul and forensic team reached the spot.
The cops sent the body for post-mortem and claimed to be waiting for the report.
Meanwhile, a Class X student, a resident of a village in Thakurdwara Kotwali area of Moradabad district accused two real brothers of the village of raping her and also making her obscene videos to blackmail her.
The police started the investigation after registering a case against both the brothers.
Reports said that the victim reached Kotwali on Tuesday evening and claimed that she was a student of class 10 in an inter college in the area and about two and a half years ago, she had gone to apply mehndi at the wedding of her friend in the village when she suddenly fell and her clothes got soiled so her friend asked her to change the clothes in a room.
The girl claimed that when she was changing clothes, her friend’s brothers made her objectionable video and later threatened to upload it on social media if she did not follow their diktat. She alleged that later by threatening her, both the brothers raped her several times and recently they asked her to oblige their friends also so she resisted and in depression also made a suicide attempt.
The girl said she had informed her brother about the incident but both the accused made an attempt on the life of her brother and sent some objectionable videos so she decided to lodge a report against Sanu and Shahrukh.
A case has been registered in this regard by the police and efforts are on to nab the accused.
