The traders have prepared a14-point demand letter, saying that they will support only that party in the forthcoming assembly elections which will solve their problems.

President of Uttar Pradesh Adarsh Vyapar Mandal, Sanjay Gupta, said their association would send the 14-point demand letters to all parties and wait for their response and then take a call on supporting the party in the coming election. The Uttar Pradesh Adarsh Vyapar Mandal is affiliated to the Confederation of All India Traders.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Gupta said that the traders’ demands include announcement of an ‘e-commerce policy’ and formation of ‘Traders Policy Commission’ and also announcement of ‘Traders Health Insurance’.

He issued the 14-point open "demand letter" which includes the demands of traders.

“We demand that political parties should include these demands in their election manifesto,” he said.

“Time has come for the political parties to solve the problems of the traders so that they do not feel neglected. Votes of traders will play a decisive role in this election as there are more than one crore traders in Uttar Pradesh,” Gupta said and added that major political parties should not neglect traders any more.

Gupta said that after assurance from the party the Adarsh Vyapar Mandal would start an awareness campaign to educate traders as to whom to vote.
