Survivors of a trader’s family of Sitapur, whose three members were murdered on June 6, demanded a CBI probe into the incident. The slain trader’s daughter met former Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav in Sefai on Friday. She is a final year student of MBBS at UP Rural Institute of  Medical Sciences, Sefai (Etawah).

Foodgrain trader Suneel Jaiswal (45), along with his wife Kamini (42) and son Ritik (14) were gunned down by unidentified assailants in Civil lines locality of Sitapur in an apparent robbery attempt on June 6.

The trader’s family members met Akhilesh Yadav at PWD Inspection House and narrated the tragedy. Students of UP Rural Institute of Medical Sciences also turned out in large numbers in support of their colleague.

Seeking help from the SP chief for a CBI probe, the family members said that the Sitapur Police have so far taken no action to nab the culprits and there was no headway in the investigations.

They urged Akhilesh Yadav to mount pressure on the Yogi government for recommending a CBI probe into the ghastly murder. Yadav onhis part, assured the family that he would write to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for a CBI probe.  Akhilesh will again meet the aggrieved family members in lucknow on Saturday.
