The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has written a letter to the Election Commission of India raising questions over the deployment of 30 companies of Uttar Pradesh's armed police force, the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC).
In the letter to the Election Commission, the TMC says: "We do not object to the deployment of armed forces of any non-BJP state, we strongly object to the deployment of personnel of PAC from UP since it is governed by UP CM Yogi Adityanath who is a star campaigner of BJP."
Significantly, UP CM Yogi Adityanath is in great demand in Bengal elections. The BJP has launched him as a star campaigner in the election rallies. The Nath sect, to which Yogi Adityanath belongs, also has a significant influence in Bengal.
Along with this, there is also a good population of people of Purvanchal in West Bengal. The large turnout in Yogi Adityanath's public meetings has sent a good message among the voters.
It may be recalled that in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the West Bengal government had not allowed the helicopter of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to land in the state.
