A three-day coordination meeting of Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) and its affiliate outfits and the BJP would take place in Mathura from September 1 to discuss various key issues and review the work done by them.
The meeting is likely to be attended, among others, by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, general Secretary Bhaiyyaji Joshi, BJP chief Amit Shah and VHP’s Pravin Togadia. The heads of over 40 affiliate outfits of the RSS like VHP, Swadeshi Jagran Manch, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh and Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh will also attend the meeting. Some state BJP leaders, Union ministers and Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled states are also expected to attend.
The meeting would be taking place after the BJP swept polls in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and emerged victorious in Goa and Manipur Assembly elections.
Developments related to the arrest of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim and subsequent violence in Panchkula and alleged violence by the left- ruled Kerala and killing of the RSS and BJP workers would also be on the agenda of the three-day meet.
It is noteworthy that the RSS, of late, has shown a lot of concern over the performance of BJP governments and stressed the need for greater co-ordination between the party, party workers and governments.
In Uttar Pradesh, Sangh leaders have categorically maintained that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath must not let bureaucracy mislead him on crucial issues and not allow the administration to have its way over party agenda.
Unhappy with performance of his cabinet colleagues, the CM has also favoured a proposal for appointment of RSS cadres as OSD to the ministers for keeping a tab on their activities and ensuring access of BJP cadres to the ministers.
