State president of Samajwadi Party and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav reiterated that the Bharatiya Janata Party would not be able to form the next government in the country and instead a Third Front government would come to power at the Centre.
Yadav was addressing an election rally in Rudapur in Phulpur lok Sabha constituency on Wednesday. “Narendra Modi’s dream to become the prime minister of India will never fructify,” he said. While highlighting the achievements of his Government, Akhilesh Yadav avoided criticising the Congress but attacked the Bahujan Samaj Party and the BJP.
Ridiculing Modi’s Gujarat model of development, he said it was in fact the ‘model of divided India’ (MODI).
Alleging that the BJP was spending the highest amount of money on election campaign, Yadav said that the Samajwadi Party was fighting the election on the achievements of its Government in UP.“The BSP has no agenda in this lok Sabha election and will be decimated after the results are announced,” he said.Condemning the previous BSP Government in the state, Yadav alleged that all the welfare schemes of the previous governments were terminated by Mayawati.
Abu Asim Azmi, president of Maharashtra unit of the SP, lashed out at the BJP and said that it was allying with Shiv Sena that was responsible for attacks on North Indians in Mumbai. Party candidate from Phulpur, Dharmraj Patel, and most of the local leaders were present in the rally.Meanwhile, addressing an election rally at Government Inter college grounds in Faizabad, former Chief Minister of UP and SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav said the Muslims of the temple city knew what he had done for them.He said: “I struggled for the minority community. It is the Samajwadi Party which always fights for the rights of the Muslim community,” he said.
Wooing the Muslim community at the rally, Yadav Senior said that the Sachar Committee had recommended 20 per cent participation of minority community in various government committees and commissions but the state Government would fix 30 per cent quota for minority community in the state government committees and commissions. He said that about 38 per cent handicraft was in the hands of Muslim community and if the Third Front government was formed at the Centre it would work for the welfare of OBC, minority and poor of the upper castes.Calling the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance Government weak, he said that the territories  of the country were not secure and a strong government was needed at the Centre.
