Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday encouraged students to keep pursuing their goals in life by emphasising that education is the only way to successfully navigate life’s challenges.
Honouring the meritorious students of the state in an event held at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, the chief minister said, “There is no alternative to hard work in life. You can overcome all of life’s challenges with education. There should be devotion to education and one must avoid marks-related arrogance. Remember, Ravana as a devotee had lifted Mount Kailash, but as an arrogant person, he could not even move Angad’s leg.”
Emphasising that the students must avoid self-complacency, the chief minister added, “Having achieved 99% marks, if you think there is no need for you to put in much effort any longer you will certainly be in trouble.”
The chief minister advised the students to work hard and be patient when dealing with challenges in life because opting short-cuts never works out well in the long run.
Asserting that cheating-free examination is the reality of Uttar Pradesh, the chief minister said that some major changes had taken place in the field of education in the last six years. Earlier, board exams used to be held for one-and-a-half months. But now after 15 days of the exams, the results were declared on time.
Highlighting the need to confront challenges during times of crisis, the chief minister said, “India demonstrated this resilience during the COVID-19 period, where our country executed programs for free testing, free treatment, and free vaccination while the rest of the world struggled during the pandemic.”
The chief minister said that the National Education Policy, which was put into place during the COVID-19 period, brought about the biggest change in the field of education since Independence.
The chief minister further said that the top ten meritorious students of all the boards had been honoured in the capital while top 10 district-level meritorious students had also been honoured by the ministers and public representatives of the government.
He said that tablets were being distributed to two crore students in Uttar Pradesh. “Apart from this, the Abhyudaya Coaching facility has been provided. Dilapidated schools have been rehabilitated. New institutions are being opened. Eighteen Atal residential schools are being opened for poor children. Without any discrimination, the work of taking the schemes of the government to the people is going on. This is the real Ramrajya.”
At the event, the chief minister honored meritorious students - Priyanshi Soni from Sitapur, Shubh from Mahoba, Irfan from Chandauli, Kosha Sharma from Moradabad, Radhika Singhal from Meerut, and Abhish Singh from Agra.
