Suspended IPS officer Amitabh Thakur filed a petition before the lucknow bench of Allahabad High on Wednesday, demanding strict action against Principal Secretary (Home) Debashish Panda and other officers for their failure to comply with a court order.
Thakur claimed that the officials had not transferred the investigation of disproportionate assets case from Vigilance Establishment to Economic Offences Wing (EOW) despite directions from the HC in this connection.
Through a communiqué, Thakur pointed out that the Court ordered the transfer of the probe to EOW on December 7 last year. But it has not been complied with even after two months. He further alleged that Panda got him suspended and took action within two days on government’s direction. “But Panda could not issue a one-page order in compliance of the High Court order. This shows this was done intentionally under political pressure just to harm me,” contended Thakur.
