Social activist Dr Nutan Thakur, who earlier filed complaint of illegal mining against Gyatri Prasad Prajapat, had now presented a petition before Governor Ram Naik requesting him not to reinstate Prajapati back in the Council of Ministers.
The petition came just 48-hours before the oath ceremony to induct Gayatri by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. The oath ceremony is scheduled for coming Monday. In her petition submitted to the governor in person on Saturday, Thakur said that Prajapati was removed as Minister on serious corruption charges in the mining department after the order of Allahabad High Court for CBI enquiry and the CBI report presented before the Court.
In a statement released here on Saturday evening, Thakur said that a minister is removed from office under provisions of Article 164 of the Constitution when he loses the pleasure of the Governor. As per the activist, when Prajapati was removed as minister, he had lost the pleasure of the Governor. Hence, he cannot be re-inducted in the Ministry unless the facts and reasons on which he had lost the pleasure of the Governor get removed.
Nutan also went to Raj Bhawan to present the petition, praying that Prajpati shall not be re-inducted unless the reasons for his having lost pleasure of Governor has been eliminated. Gayatri along with another cabinet minister was sacked by CM on Monday last. But on the directions of Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav, the Chief Minister had announced that Prajapati will be instated in the ministry.
