Suspended IPS officer Amitabh Thakur asked director general of police (DGP) Jagmohan Yadav to maintain the dignity of the highest police post. He also requested Yadav not to turn the highest seat of the Police Department, the safest place to get out clean from heinous offenses.
In a letter written to DGP Jagmohan Yadav on Monday, Amitabh Thakur claimed to have requested Yadav to be cautious about the dignity of the office he holds presently. Thakur said news reports of property dealers and small-time leaders of ruling party coming in large number in DGP office after Yadav became the State DGP have come as also reports of his alleged dubious role in saving the accused in murder of a property dealer in lucknow.
Thakur said that on one hand he was suspended mainly on the ground of lowering the image of government and the UP Police and sending wrong message among the people despite his coming to assistance of poor harassed people, on the other such serious allegations are being leveled against the State DGP, which is definitely against the image and reputation of the State government and the police force, hence Yadav shall take cognizance of these facts to ensure that such talks come to an end and the dignity of the DGP post could be restored. It may be mentioned that Jagmohan Yadav reportedly preferred to meet only the SP leaders and workers and avoid meeting public, other Party leaders or even to journalists. Interestingly, he also fixed time to be available to meet his own colleagues. Yadav is due to retire in this December.
