It is a talent hunt for the Congress as its leaders now need to give tests and interviews before they are nominated for the posts of UP Congress spokesman or penalists for TV channels. Around 70 leaders, senior and young , appeared in the written exams of one hour and later appeared for interview before party’s National spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi and national media coordinator Rohan Gupta. However in the written exams there was free for all and leaders adopted to mass cheating even using Google `baba’ to get the right answer.
The written question paper contained 14 questions, all compulsory and to be completed in one hour. The questions were related to geographical and political in nature. It also asked how will they reply to any political event questioned by the media. later during the interview the aspirants were asked the political scenario of the state and how will they defend the party. Recently UP Congress president Raj Babbar had dissolved the media committee and now the examination process has created panic among the leaders , who were occupying the spokesperson post during the past several years. There are around 12 post for the spokesperson and a similar number of media panelist with 50 per cent to be given to the young and new one. Caste would also play an important role in the selection. Priyanka Chaturvedi said that such examination to choose the spokesperson and panelist have already been held in Karnataka and three other states. “We just want that our spokesperson are efficient enough to speak before the media and it is nothing such a big issue,” she said.
