PYet another inhuman face of the Uttar Pradesh police galore on Thursday when a cop of Pratapgarh police used third degree on a visitor despite of his plead that he was innocent. The video of this inhuman act of the police later went viral on social media after which the official spokesman of the director general of police claimed to be verifying the facts.
He also said that stern action will be taken if the video was found to be true.
Reports said that one Ram Singh, a native of Pratapgarh went to Kandhai police station on Thursday morning. He went to make a recommendation of his friend to listen his problem and had reportedly pleaded before constable, Rakesh Singh, to take cognizance of it. later Rakesh Singh lost his cool over some matter and had started brutally assaulting Ram Singh and also hurled abuses on him. The video which later went viral on social media showed that Ram Singh was pleading his innocence but the constable brutally assaulted him and threatened him with dire consequences.
Sources said that soon after the video went viral, the local officers as well as the DGP office took cognizance of the matter and had ordered the district police chief in Pratapgarh to look into the matter and submit a report so that necessary action could be initiated against the guilty cop.
