In a desperate attempt to save her modesty from a rapist, a teeanaged Dalit girl bobbitised the assailant in Meerut on Thursday night.
As per reports, the 17-year-old girl went out of her home in Incholi area of Meerut to relive herself when she was accosted by a neighbour Raees. The miscreant dragged her to a bushy outgrowth and tried to threaten her with a knife with the ulterior aim of deriving carnal pleaure.
As Raees brandished the knife to terrorise the girl into submission, the girl struiggled valiantly and a scuffle ensued. The girl managed to snatch the knife from the miscreant and in an attempt to save herself from being rapoed, attacked his private parts slicing off a part of the organ. As the profusely bleeding Raees slumped to the ground, the girl escaped.
Upon learning about the incident, the local villagers rushed to the spot and admitted the accused to a hospital.
Finding his condition `critical’, the doctors referred Raees to New Delhi.
A case was registered in this regard and heavy police force was deployed in the village to avert any communal clash.
Meanwhile failing to get justice from the local administration and the police, a man reportedly immolated himself in front of Orai police station in Jalaun on Thursday night.
Amidst protest by the villagers, the senior offices later assured of a probe and initiating action against those guilty of not ensuring justice to the victim.
Swadesh Kumar of Tulsinagar area of Orai had been running from pillar to post for the last two years to get his shop evicted as Rajjan had been forcibly running a barber shop there.
However, neither the officials of district administration nor the police listened to his woes which depressd Kumar.
losing all hope of getting the property back, Swadesh, who was facing financial problems finally decided to get rid of the miseries by ending his life. On Thursday evening, he purchased petrol and reached Orai Kotwali. As the cops asked him to leave the police station campus and pushed him out, Swadesh doused himself with the inflammable oil and set himself afire. The cops rushed to douse it but he ran and fell down about 100 meters from the Kotwali.
The cops immediately rushed him to hospital in an unconscious state where doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival. Upon learning of his death, local villagers and family members staged a protest which ended after the officers assured of a probe to ascertain why the victim’s grievance were not heard or necessary action taken to forward relief to the victim.
