After battling for her life for the last 10 days, slain Deputy SP of NIA, Tanzil Ahmed's wife Farzana succumbed to her injuries at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi on Wednesday.
Farzana Khatoon suffered four bullet wounds while her husband Tanzil Ahmed had 24 bullets pumped into him from a 9mm gpistol by assailants on the night of April 2.The couple along with their teenaged daughters were returning from as wedding function on a car to their native home at Sahaspur village in Bijnore when the incident took place. Their daughters however escaped the attack. Farzana was initially admitted to a private hospital in Noida but was later referred to the AIIMs where she passed away around 10.45 am on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, a Special Task Force (STF) team arrested two more persons on charges of conspiracy in the murder of Ahmed early Wednesday morning. Sources however claimed that duo - Rizwan and Tanzeem were nabbed for providing shelter to absconding prime accused Muneer in New Delhi.
On Wednesday evening, IG (law and Order) Deepak Ratan informed, "Rizwan and Mohamed Tanzeem were arrested on this morning and produced in a court later in the afternoon. Further investigations are on and teams have been despatched to nab mastermind Muneer.” The IG however stopped short of defining their role in the entire episode.
The role of the two came up in connection with harbouring Muneer during the interrogation of Reyan and Mohamed Zaini - who were earlier arrested on Tuesday.
The Bijnore police had claimed to have worked out the case with t he arrest of Reyan and Zaini after detaining them for the last ten days. The police claimed that the duo along with absconding Muneer had eliminated the officer due to family feud and personal enmity. The bike used in the crime was also recovered. Rehan hapens to be a kin of the Tanzil Ahmed.
