The second killing of by a man in Moradabad has put the Forest Department on the toes. The forty year old man was killed on Sunday Morning at the Chageri village of the Kaath Tehsil in Moradabad. DFO Moradabad SC Brahmi while talking to "The Pioneer" said that they are now trying to trap and tranqualize the tiger.
Brahmi said that the tiger was moving in the sugarcane fields and had moved a distance of 55 kilometres from the previous spot where it killed and half ate a 20 year old man in Moradabad. "The tiger is an adult one and we presume that it has come from the Uttrakhand side. There are no forests in Moradabad so the tiger is carrying out the killings in the thick sugarcane fields" said the DFO.
The forest official said that procedures have been moved for the compensation for the victims. He said that they were now going in for trapping and transqualizing the animal. "We have experts from institutes who have arrived to help us" he added. On being asked if the tiger had been called a maneater, the official said that the tiger has not been officially called a maneater.
The team has tranqualizing experts from the Nainital Zoo and Jim Corbet National Park. "We are presuming that the tiger is from Uttrakhand because the tiger is climbing northwards towards its habitat area" he said.
