The Special Task Force (STF), UP claimed to have arrested a contract killer who was to bump off a prominent person.
The miscreant arrested was identified as Sumit Kumar Singh aka Monu of Mau district. His arrest came after the sleuths intercepted some call and got to know of his plan. The cops recovered a 9 mm pistol, six live cartridges, a motorcycle, a fake driving license in the name of one Bunty Singh, a vehicle registration certificate and a fake insurance invoice.
The police said Monu was named in several heinous crime cases and he had the notoriety of contract killer also. The sleuths said a call was intercepted during regular surveillance and Monu’s sinister design was exposed. Monu owned up his crime and told police that he was to kill a prominent person on a contract. He disclosed that he worked for a notorious criminal of Siwan district in Bihar and was assigned the task by his mentor. He further disclosed that he had taken contract for murder of a Gorakhpur based property dealer, a school manger and of a man. His disclosed his sworn enmity with one Prabhat Singh aka Dabbu of his village and said several persons of this gang were killed in the enmity.
