With the arrest of six miscreants in Barabanki and Amethi districts on Saturday, the UP Special Task Force claimed to have busted an interstate gang involved in manufacturing fake fertilisers using the brand names of famous companies.
Those arrested were identified as Anurag Shukla aka Raja Shukla, Amarnath Shukla, Manish Awasthi, Vimal Kumar, Vikas Kumar and Divyansh Gupta, all of Barabanki.
The STF team recovered 250 sacks filled with sulphur, 556 empty buckets made of plastic, 30 sacks filled with gypsum powder, five sacks filled with organic fertiliser, 250 sacks of filler powder, 400 sacks with organic fertiliser embossed on it, a mixing machine and other materials, including empty sacks of branded companies dealing in fertilisers. The team also recovered a huge quantity of goods used in manufacturing fertilisers and sacks related to another case of crime against the accused.
The team worked on a tip-off about the factory which was being run in Amethi with its godown in Barabanki.
