State Unit of the BJP protested the hike in the government bus fares in the state and criticised the Akhilesh Yadav government for adopting “double standards” on every issue.

“When the Central government hiked the rail fare, first the UP  government supported it and then suddenly the ruling Samajwadi Party started opposing it in public. But now why it has hiked the bus fare. Would this hike won’t affect the poor people,” said BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak here on Thursday.Pathak, while demanding immediately withdrawal of the hiked bus fare, said the UP government has always maintained double standards. “The law and order in the state has become worst and now the issue of conversion in Meerut and Ghaziabad has rocked the state. But it is unfortunate that the government is yet to act,” he said. Pathak also criticised the SP leaders for giving “contradictory statements” on cases of conversion. “Parallel center of power in the state has created much problem for the SP government leading to mis-governance,” he said.
