Opposing Samajwadi Party Government’s Muslim appeasement policy the state unit of BJP knocked the doors of Governor B.l. Joshi on Wednesday saying that Government has given a communal leader a status of minister as well as increased compensation of terror accused Khalid Mujahid.

“This speaks of Government policy of pursuing a communal agenda keeping an eye on next lok Sabha election and vote politics. The Government has given minister of state status to All India Ittehad-e-Millat Council chief. He is the same man who had threatened DGP,” BJP president laxmikant Bajpai said in the memorandum.

Bajpayi ed a party delegation comprising 10 people and met Governor at Raj Bhawan and handed over a memorandum to him. BJP spokeperson Vijay Bahadur Pathak said here that the first demand was that the state government should immediately withdraw state minister status given to Tauqir Raza, President of the All India Ittehad-e-Millat, after his appointment as advisor in the state Handloom department.

''Tauqir Raza is accused in the Bareilly riots and appointing him as a government adviser prove that the Samajwadi Party government was trying to appease the Muslims before the lok Sabha elections,'' Pathak said.

He further said that sanction of Rs 6 lakhs as compensation to the family of the terror accused Khalid Mujahid is totally illegal as it will set a wrong precedence of honouring a criminal.

'The act of the SP government is condemnable and the Governor has been requested to take up the issue with the state government and prevent such illegal actions,'' he said.
