State was rocked with a rape and murder of 8-year-old girl in Bareilly, rape of a middle-aged woman in Bagpat, kidnapping of a 3-year-old girl also in Bagpat and lastly suicide by a woman just after her mother-in-law suspected her of having illicit relations in Balia.
According to reports from Bareilly, a minor girl was allegedly raped and murdered by two youths in Izzatnagar area. Reports said that two youths, identified as Amir and Haseen (both 20), hailing from Izzatnagar locality had lured an eight-year-old girl residing in their neighbor. They duo took her to a secluded place where they raped her and later strangulated the victim to death on Friday. The parents of the girl, who informed the local police about the incident on Friday evening after the girl went missing, reportedly recovered her body on Saturday morning after which they once again reported the matter to the cops.
The police subsequently swung into action and arrested both the accused. During interrogation they revealed to have taken the victim to a make-shift accommodation that belonged to a private security guard, working for a builder, and raped the girl. later in fear of being identified by the victim, they killed her and dumped her body in a secluded place to conceal the crime. The cops also detained the guard and his wife for interrogation after suspecting their involvement in the crime.
In another case of rape reported from Bagpat, a 48-year-old widow was allegedly raped by a 52-year-old man in Chandinagar area of the district. local police claimed that Suraiya (name changed), hailing from Chandinagar was raped by one Islam when she took her cattle for grazing in the nearby forest on Friday evening. On a complaint of the victim’s family, an FIR has been lodged against the accused, who is absconding. Efforts were now made to lay a trap on him. Medical examination of the woman has been conducted and its result is awaited, the official said.
In one more case also reported from Baghpat, a man was arrested in Tatiri Mandi area here for trying to kidnap a 3-year-old girl. The accused identified as Anil attempted to kidnap the girl while she was playing outside her uncle’s house on Thursday evening. luckily some local residents responded to cries of the victim and had nabbed the accused and handed him over to police. Following a complaint by the girl’s family, Anil was officially shown arrested and sent to jail on Saturday.
Meanwhile in the last case reported from Ballia, a woman committed suicide allegedly after her mother-in-law snatched her mobile phone as she suspected her of having an illicit relationship in Rewati area. The woman, whose husband works in Gujarat, had left her house on last Thursday evening and returned on Friday following which, her mother-in-law scolded her and snatched her mobile phone, local police disclosed to media persons. The mother-in-law suspected her of having an illicit relationship with a youth of the same village and the upset victim then committed suicide by hanging herself. A case has been registered in this regard and the body was sent for post-mortem examination.
