The state government will further strengthen the security of Taj Mahal and three prominent religious places at Ayodhya, Mathura and Kanshi.
Officials concerned have been directed to come up with suggestions in this regard so that a fool-proof security draft could be finalised and executed in these places. Officials of Government of India, Central Reserve Security Force and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) will also chip in with their suggestions.
A Home department communiqué on Wednesday said that Principal Secretary Debashish Panda reviewed the security of Taj Mahal alongwith Ayodhya, Kashi and Mathura at a high-level meeting. It was decided on setting up of a high-tech control room in all four places, along with hi-tech CCTV cameras and a separate surveillance cell.
Panda directed officials to make routine review of CCTV footage to identify suspects visiting these places and act against them. He also stresed on proper frisking and checking of items entering these places.
The officials were also asked to set up more watch towers and CCTV cameras at these places so that every movement of suspects could be monitored and action could be taken. The meeting was attended by senior police officials including DGP Javeed Ahmed.
