The Akhilesh Yadav Government is pinning high hopes from the proposed investors’ meet in Mumbai on September 10 where the Government will showcase ‘Brand UP’ before galaxy of industry captains and top investors.
“All who matters in India Inc would be attending the investors’ meet where Government would showcase prowess of Uttar Pradesh. That’s why in the meet UP is being projected as land of Unlimited Potential,” CEO UPEIDA Navneet Sehgal told The Pioneer here on Sunday.
The officials are conscious to the fact that the attendance at the meet would reflect whether UP has been able to garner the confidence of India Inc in its ability to promise and deliver on the industrial firmament.
Sehgal said that the Government expects good response from the industry in this meet. “This meet would focus on infrastructure development in all sectors including roads, power, health and education. We will invite private players to invest in these sectors,” he said.
“The entrepreneurs would be informed about various facilities and incentives being provided by UP to investors,” Sehgal said adding the government had been making concerted efforts to ‘improve and develop’ world-class infrastructure and congenial environment for industrial development in the state.
There would be different sessions where officials will inform investors about digitally linking different departments. One of the promo of the meet named “Uttar Pradesh Rising” prepared for the meet even says that “Uttar Pradesh is committed to promote IT and e-governance at all levels.”
Chief secretary Alok Ranjan said that the official mandate of the event is to expedite industrial development in UP and attract private investment in various sectors. “The meet would focus on detailed and direct dialogue with big industrial houses, in which investors would be apprised of the enormous pool of resources and avenues available for investment in the state,” he said.
The government feels the conclave in the country’s commercial capital would provide an excellent opportunity to disseminate elaborative information about specific policies to promote private investment in core sectors.
Director Information Ashutosh Niranjan said Chief Minister would also be launching the Single Window System to facilitate film production in Uttar Pradesh. “The system has been developed by Film Bandhu,” he said adding that government had announced film policy earlier this year to promote movie production in the State.
