As a mark of respect for former President of India Dr APJ Kalam the Akhilesh Yadav government is planning to launch many projects in his memory basically on solar power and education sectors.
Chief Minister has asked officials to prepare a blue print of these projects. “During his last meeting between Dr Kalam and Yadav former president had shown interest on solar power project and had even inaugurated one on July 7 in Kannauj. He suggested how Akhilesh can take UP to the path of development and prosperity,” a senior official told The Pioneer here on Wednesday.
Sources said that Akhilesh Yadav had even plans to ask the team of Dr Kalam to give presentation on development issue and it was slated in last week of August. This proposal still stands.
“Chief Minister now wants that schemes should be launched in memory of Dr Kalam. It has to be solar power and second on education as he was educationist and always loved to interact with children,” he said.
It is no secret that Kalam enjoyed good relations with Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav. The missile man had commented on development schemes launched by UP Government from time to time.
Sources say he was overwhelmed and expressed his happiness when he saw an ariel view of the Agra-lucknow express way when Kalam was on his way to Kannauj on July 7 to inaugurate a solar power project. Dr Kalam even congratulated Yadav for doing such an outstanding work for developing the infrastructure of India.
Earlier on May 13 last, Dr Kalam expressed his happiness on installing water ATM’s and construction of a cycle tracks in the state capital.
The Bharat Ratna-awardee just five days back in Bijnore batted for the advancement in rural technology as it is required for making country progressive and prosperous. He even asked Yadav to set up more and more such technological agriculture institutes in the country.
“Dr Kalam did not even hesitate a bit in advising Chief Minister and gave numerous advises to him including the nine path ways for making the state an economically developed state,” official said.
The nine pathways for making a state economically developed included, water mission, preparing next generation of village leaders, skill development for youths, UP energy mission using biomass or solar, sustainable development,-waste of wealth, social entrepreneurship mission, safety and security of people and mobile inclusive governance.
The former president then tweeted from his twitter handle, “Discussed many issues with CM; would be happy to work further on development issues along with my team”. This twit was retweeted by Yadav as well as by the official twitter handle of UP CM office.
When Dr Kalam, recently inaugurated the Solar Power Plant in Kannauj, he advocated use of more and more electrical rickshaw as they were eco-friendly and would help in decreasing the pollution.
“The CM now wants that ideas of Kalam should take a concrete shape. So new projects are on the anvil and most likely would be launched onOctober 15 – his birthday,” the official said.
