To check malpractices during tender process, the state government declared that e-tendering system would be adopted in all government departments, development authorities and other places to end mafia raj and irregularities.
Besides, the government made it clear that while manual tendering requires around 3 months to complete formalities, in e-tendering the process would be completed in just one month’s time.
A directive in this connection was issued by Chief Secretary Rahul Bhatnagar on the direction of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Bhatnagar said, “While e-tendering would be more transparent and safe, the government could store details of the tenders for 5 to 10 years,” he said.
Bhatnagar said that all departments should take the help of NIC for e-procurement platform and money deposited for tenders would also be paid online making the process more simple and cashless. “The day to day process of the e-tenders would also be sent to the bidders through e-mail,” he said.
The Chief Secretary said that at present UP Electronic Corporation limited (UPEC) has been made the nodal department for e-procurement and e-tendering process of the government.
