State Government finally recommended a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the appointment made by Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission between 2012 and 2017.
Sources said that the Home Department sent a letter to the Central Government asking to constitute a CBI probe into the appointments made by UPPSC during Samajwadi Party’s government regime. About 9000 recruitment made during SP regimes came under controversy particularly after members of particular community dominated the selection process.
Earlier government has given its consent for a CBI probe into the appointments made by the UPPSC. The cabinet is specific that all appointments made between 2012 and 2017 would be put under microscope,” a spokesman said here on Tuesday.
It may be mentioned that while replying to a debate Chief Minister had earlier announced in Vidhan Sabha about government’s intention to go for CBI probe into the appointments made during previous regime. He had sarcastically spoken about Haryana Chief Minister who is in jail for making illegal appointments. This had infuriated opposition members which led to boycott of the House.
