With temperature rising with each passing day, the state government has planned to ensure proper supply of drinking water in each district.
“Apart from Bundelkhand, water supply schemes should be implemented in other parts of the state too. To address the problem in Bundelkhand, as well in 12 other districts falling on banks of Ganga including Fatehpur, Kanpur Dehat, Kaushambi, Bhadohi, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Sonebhadra etc, repair works of hand-pumps and reboring has been taken on a large scale,” said minister of state (independent charge) Mahendra Singh. He was speaking to media persons in lucknow on Friday afternoon.
“Installation of new hand-pumps and reboring of existing hand-pumps under the quota of MlAs and MlCs should be completed after taking their consent. Besides, a control room has already been set up at lucknow and DMs have been asked to supervise complaints on a daily basis,” Singh said.
The minister said that an exercise to remove encroachment on ponds and to revive water bodies grabbed illegally will be made in a planned way with the help of all departments concerned. Singh said that they will ensure that water level improved in Bundelkhand as well as other regions which were facing acute water scarcity during summers.
The minister also appealed to the public not to waste water failing which stern action would be taken.
