State Govt Committed to provide best healthcare services: CM

Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday reiterated the Samajwadi Party government's commitment to improving the healthcare system and said that soon there would be no shortage of doctors in the state.

"My government is committed to providing the best healthcare services to everyone, particularly the poor and downtrodden sections of society and I assure you all that soon, there will be no shortage of doctors in the state," the Chief Minister asserted.

"The state will progress and move forward only if the people of the state remain healthy and fit," Yadav said while addressing a gathering after laying the foundation stone of Government Allopathic Medical College in Shahjahanpur on Saturday morning.

In the presence of Union Health Minister JP Nadda, who was the chief guest on the occasion, the Chief Minister said better health services would be given to the people of UP with improved Centre-State coordination. "There should be no politics on the issues of development and people's welfare," he said while stressing on better relations with the Centre in the near future.

"More medical colleges are coming up in the state and students studying here will soon turn out as doctors," Yadav said and exhorted medical students to work with humanity so that no one was deprived of medical care.

Talking a dig at former United Progressive Alliance government at the Centre and Bahujan Samaj Party government in UP, Yadav said that BSP had not provided land for AIIMS in Gorakhpur during UPA’s rule and the entire budget for the healthcare of poor under National Rural Health Missing (NRHM) had been siphoned off by BSP ministers, badly affecting the healthcare system.

However, when his government came to power, not just more medical colleges and hospitals were opening across the state but they also provided land for AIIMS in Rae Bareli. "Samajwadi Party provided land for AIIMS in Rae Bareli but the Congress government had not called us during the foundation-stone ceremony”, reminded Akhilesh while praising the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government for joining hands with them in the ceremony here at Shahjahanpur”, asserted Yadav.

Hailing Nadda for his support, Yadav said that as soon as the Centre proposed to open medical college here in Shahjahapur, Samajwadi Party allotted land for the purpose and in future if any extension was proposed for the hospital, his government would not wait a moment to forward necessary help. Yadav also called MlAs to contribute to health services from their development fund so that people of their constituency could get better medical services.

Calling that the Central Government is fully concerned with the health of each and every citizen, Union Health Minister JP Nadda said that they were improving health services in all the State and very soon, NDA would fulfill the demand of AIIMS in Gorakhpur. ``If States and Centre would  work together than I could say will confidence that we would make rare achievement and touch new heights as far as forwarding best health care services to poor and deprived class”, asserted Nadda adding that Centre is provided many dialysis units in the State including in Shahjahenpur.
