State Govt braces up for filling Govt vacancies

Published on:

The state government directed all departmental heads to send the request for recruitments to the state public service commission for filling vacancies in their departments arising due to retirement and resignation.

The government said that the delay in sending request for recruitment to the commission further delayed the selection of candidates for vacant posts as the process of recruitment itself takes two years.

In a circular issued to all additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and Secretaries, Chief Secretary Rajiv Kumar said that the Department of Personnel issued clear directives to all departments three years ago for sending requests for recruitment to vacant posts.

Kumar said that the directives were not being implemented by the departments leading to inordinate delay in recruitment which adversely impacted governments work and overall efficiency of different government departments.

“I presume that the request for recruitment for vacancies arising out of retirement from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018 must have been sent to the public service commission. If the same has not been dispatched so far, then ensure that it’s done by August 31,’’wrote the Chief Secretary.

Kumar said that since it took two years for the public service commission to complete recruitment, the estimate of vacancies occurring in 2018-19 be made this year and the request be sent to the commission by November 30 this year.
