Reacting to the allegations that Union Government is biased towards UP the state unit of BJP said that ministers in Akhilesh Yadav Government are criticizing Modi Government for political reasons whereas the fact is state government has failed to utilize funds allocated by the union government on several heads. “The allegations of UP’s senior minister Shivpal Singh Yadav is baseless. UP was the first state to get compensation under drought relief but the state government is yet to utilize that money,” BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said in a statement issued here on Monday.
He said that Modi government had cleared transmission line between Anpara and Unnao – the project which was pending since 2010. Besides, the Union Government has released the state’s share of 14th Pay commission. “The Modi Government has promised to give all states 10 per cent extra allocation. Under this Uttar Pradesh will get Rs 27,000 crore as additional fund. PM has himself taken initiatives to clear pending projects.” He said and added: “Under this light the allegations leveled by SP Ministers is politically motivated.”
He said the state government has failed to stop loot of central funds. What heppend with Bundelkhand Nidhi is no longer a secret. Government has even failed to plug loot in MNREGA money. This is because the people who were involved in the loot are close to people who matter the most, Pathak said. “Instead of leveling allegation Shivpal Singh Yadav should ensure judicious utilization of funds so that development of the state could be carried out in a speedy manner,” he said.
