After successfully holding chaupal with the farmers, traders during his on-going ‘Haq Mango Abhiyan- Na Karz Mafi, na rojgar ka mauka, prachand bahumat, phir bhi prachand dhoka’ (no loan waiver, no jobs; a massive betrayal after a massive mandate) campaign, State Congress President, Raj Babbar, would once again visit the Mahoba district of Bundelkhand just to launch frontal attack both Narendra Modi led Central government, which already completed three years in office and Yogi Adityanath’s government which recently completed 100-days in office.
“The farmers community is badly hit with various natural calamites hitting this Bundelkhand region but now their problems further increased due to unpopular and anti-farmer decision of the BJP lead governments, both in the Centre as well as State”, asserted former minister Badshah Singh, who was recently elevated to the post of vice-president of UPCC by Raj Babbar. Singh claimed that while the farmers were not given Mimimum Support Price (MSP) as assured by Modi during election rallies, their loans has been also not waived off so far. ``Farmers are already hit by not increase in MSP and waiving of agriculture loan but now recently increase in prices of urea, pesticides after imposition of Goods and Services Tax (GST) would further pose trouble for the farmers who were already forced to commit suicide”, Singh claimed while confirming that state president Raj Babbar will be visiting Mahoba in the end of this month to raise the above issues and to target both the Centre as well as State government.
Earlier Babbar during his visit to Hamirpur district under the Above `Haq Mango’ campaign, had claimed that the people of Bundelkhand region are always very tolerant and silently bear the burnt even when the region is going through years and years of drought and poverty. He said that still the people had took farming. ``It is a matter of grave concern that now since the Bhartiya Janta Party government, both in the Center as well as in the State, had went for anti-farmers policy just to appease their few industrialists friends, the farmers are left with no other option but forced to commit suicide under the pressure of rising debt”, Babbar said that while attacking the state as well as Central government for their anti-farmers approach.
“Both- Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath- had ignored the issues related to the farmer”, alleged Congress State president while highlighting that how the two governments had failed to fulfill their promise of giving 50 percent profit to the farmers over the cost of the `produce’ and that of waiving of loans of the farmers. ``It was very sad to meet the families of the farmers who committed suicide after facing harassment for not repaying loans”, claimed Babbar, who during his visit to Hamirpur last monthy, had met the families of the four farmers who ended their lives in the district.
