The state civil service association has asked for the security of the officers from the state government. The demand has been made following the misbehavior by a BJP MlA of Ferozabad with a senior PCS officer KK Singh, the municipal commissioner of the town known for Glass industry.

Umesh Pratap Singh, president of the UP PCS (executive) Association   said here on Monday that the association condemns the behavior of the BJP MlA Manish Aseejaa with the senior PCS officer.  He said the ruling party MlA publically rebuked the municipal commissioner and also hurled threats on the officer.  He said this is not the first incident of this kind and the association gets such complaints from the members officers at regular intervals. He said the association is waiting for the details of the incident from KK Singh and after the receipt of his version the association would announce the next course of action.

He said that it’s the long standing demand of the association from the state government that all the PCS officers posted on sensitive post be provided security and the government should formulate a policy. He said the security will instill confidence and boost the morale of the officers and help them in discharging their official duties in the best interest of the people.  He said the association expects from the state government that it would take cognizance of the incident at Ferozabad and take required measures to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.

Hardev Singh, a retired PCS officer and patron of the association demanding intervention of the state government said   `` it’s a serious matter as the ruling party MlA humiliated the senior officer in full public view’’.   He said for the positive change in the system both the political leaders and the bureaucrats will have to change their role from the ruler to public servant and then only such incidents can be prevented.
