The state BJP announced candidates for the two Assembly seats where by polls will be held on May 16.
The BJP Central Election Committee has approved former Moradabad district chief Suresh Saini as the candidate from Bilari seat in Moradabad while former state vice-president of Social Justice Morcha, Ramesh Singh has been fielded from , seat in Ghazipur.
The announcement was made by state spokesperson Dr Chandramohan in lucknow on Thursday.
Friday is the last date for filing of nominations for the by-polls. Both seats fell vacant following the death of SP members. The SP has fielded the kin of the deceased members in the by-polls.
Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is not contesting these elections.
