SP's youth leaders burns effigy of Amar Singh

Published on:

leaders of youth outfits of Samajwadi Party, owing allegiance to CM Akhilesh Yadav, burnt the effigy of Rajya Sabha member Amar Singh and demanded his ouster at the state SP office in lucknow on Saturday. Singh is considered close to Shivpal Yadav.

The youth leaders started the protest against Amar Singh as soon as party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav left for his residence from the party office. The leaders raised slogans like ' Amar Singh murdabad' and demanded he should be sacked from the party.

Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav had earlier alleged that the crisis in the party was due to an outsider. Without naming Amar Singh, Yadav said on Friday that 'beech wale agar beech mein aayange to unhe beech se hata diye jayaga’ (if the middlemen come in between us, then they will be removed).

SP general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav earlier this week had said that there was a conspiracy to destabilise and weaken CM Akhilesh Yadav and the SP ahead of the crucial Assembly polls, but the conspiracy has been thwarted.

Without naming Singh, Yadav had said that there was one leader who claimed that he was not 'Samajwadi' but 'Mulayam wadi'. "He cares little for the party. For him, the party may go to hell and he could go to any extent for his self interest," Ram Gopal had charged.
