Samajwadi Party Government’s initiative to invite private investment in power sector got a fillip on Tuesday when a Germany-based company IPQ (Institute for Project and Quality management) showed its willingness to set up eight solar power plants of various strengths in the state. Director IPQ Michael Passi met Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and assured his company’s willingness to invest in power sector. The IPQ will invest in Metro Rail Project and will set up eight solar plants.

Government spokesman said that the German company will set up three solar plants of 2.5 MW each, two solar plants of 5 MW each and three plants of 10 MW. During his meeting Passi told Chief Minister that his company was willing to set up solar power plants that require less land area. Chief Minister has assured all help to the IPQ in setting solar power plants in the state.

CM said that his government was working on increasing power availability by tapping non-conventional methods. Therefore, his government has brought Solar Power Policy encouraging private players to set up small units in Uttar Pradesh. “Once the IPQ comes with report the Government will provide land and give all administrative clearance in record time,” he said. Besides Passi, the IPQ was represented by Barbel Passi and Indian partner of the company Kailash Kumar.
